A (Very) Little Refashion

Wardrobe Refashion-Sonia Luna
I have arrived at the end of my two months pledge on
Wardrobe Refashion.
As I got busy I didn't do as much refashioning as I had

intended, I only managed two ... me bad!
I re-worked a cashmere cardigan I found on the street (!):
I changed the buttons, cut the sleeves and elasticated the waist,

I added ruffles to the shoulder, I couldn't help myself and
had to add some sparkle with some purple sequins

The second refashion is a skirt, made out of a second hand

kaftan, a very simple one although I still managed a
wobbly waistband!
I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by the fact that
I didn't miss shopping as much as I thought I would, all
the same
I won't be signing to the site for a second round
but I will try to make some time for more refashions.

94 Drawings In 94 Days ... A Project

I started this little project because, yet again, I bought a little sketch pad ...
I just can't help myself, I love stationary! The problem is that I tend to start
a new pad and two or three pages later it lays abandoned ... so here starts the
"94 drawings in 94 days" project, so named beacause I ripped 2 pages
out of the sketch pad and only 94 remains, simple!
The drawings are just sketches and small ideas, I can't rip any
page out so even the duds have to stay!
I started this project on the 2nd of May
what follows are the first week of drawings:

I will try and post the other drawing as I do them
I'm really enjoying this small project and
will give myself others to do in
the future!

Fabric Palette

See what happens? I just wanted to upload a picture of my
recent project and I got lost making a palette from the
colours of the fabric, the joy of bighugelabs
palette generator
And the colours are beautiful aren't they?

*******
This is the sample of a bag I'm working on,
I'm still tweaking the pattern,
I think the flap on the front should be wider; one thing for sure, I have to stop
using this fabric for samples, I just love it so much I want to
work with it all the time, but it is running out and I should really
keep it for the final product!
I think I have enough for two or tree more bags this size.

In case you're interested the colours are in the palette are:

Heart Shaped Beads

I made this necklace the other day, finally putting to use some of the
beads my mother sent me for my birthday months ago! The heart shaped and larger
round glass beads I bought in Dublin a while ago with this necklace in mind ...
I'm happy with the way it turned out and will make a few more very soon!

The background pictures are from Vulgaris by Ron Van Dongen,
a fabulous limited edition book my boyfriend gave me as a present a few years
ago, filled with amazing monochrome images of flowers, a veritable feast for the eyes!

Something Old, Something New ...

Here'a a picture of some thrifty finds: a beautiful wicker tray I found yesterday and three cups I found a while ago, I love the pattern on these little cups and I can't bring myself to use them in case they get ruined ... although I suppose that's what they are designed for so I should just get over my fear and serve some lovely espresso coffee in them!
In the picture two of the pochettes I'm working on, these are quite simple, made with recycled material and buttons, they are lined in the same material.

I love these two three strands necklaces, I especially love the green and blue one! Both are made with beads my mother sent me for my birthday.

Work In Progress

I've been a busy bee in the last few weeks, sorting out my work-space, making lists, lists, lists, lists that seem endless but little by little things are getting done! Very exciting times indeed, big project on the way ... very mysterious I know but all will be revealed in due time!
I've been experimenting with earrings, here are some of the results

I'm still tweaking this design so any suggestions, ideas and comments will be greatly appreciated!

The Blue ones,in the next picture, are made with brand new beads, I know I should try and use only recycled ones but when I saw these I couldn't resists, they are so colourful!

I love this multicoloured necklace:

I'm waiting for a package from Italy crammed full of goodies! Sterling Silver findings, some old clothes of mine [everything comes back around doesn't it?], and hopefully some lovely foodie goodies ... mmmh ... can't wait!
