Details

I know, I know, it's been months! This is not a post gushing about how marvellous Christian Dior's couture collection was, rather it's about the pictures ...I love the detailed and close up pictures on Style.com... I'd like to frame them and put them on my wall!

Walking In Your Shoes...

Some people, I'm sure, feel a bit hickey about buying second hand shoes, but I don't have such qualms, if the shoes are clean and in good conditions, I don't see why not! I have an ever growing collection of shoes that I trhifted, mostly in Dublin.
I confess that I'm sometimes guilty of even buying shoes that don't fit me just because I like them so much! Which totally contradicts the statement I made in my previous post about curbing my trifting habit!

Pink sandals, a gift from my sister [she's the real shoe addict in the family, I am an amateur in comparison!]. Red and Pink, I love the colour combination!

Platform Sandals, found in Oxfam, George's Street, Dublin. Polka Dots Sandals, made in Japan, found in Dublin, Oxfam, George's Street

Grey Platform Sandals. Purple Suede Shoes with chunky heels, both thrifted on Capel Street, Dublin.

Vases and Bottles

More shots of my thrifty finds, these have been with me for a while, I have added new items to my collection of glass bottles, plates and cups, I need to slow down with the thrifting because I don't have much space left in the house, I just can't help it! I love the trill of finding something unique, I got better thought, I used to buy lots of clothes just 'cause they where cheap and ended up with things I would never wear, now I try to limit myself to very special items.

More thrifty finds, the round glass vase has by now been transformed into a lamp ... pictures to follow sometimes soon, I don't have a digital camera at the moment so I can only take pictures when charitable friends lend me theirs!

Something Old, Something New ...

Here'a a picture of some thrifty finds: a beautiful wicker tray I found yesterday and three cups I found a while ago, I love the pattern on these little cups and I can't bring myself to use them in case they get ruined ... although I suppose that's what they are designed for so I should just get over my fear and serve some lovely espresso coffee in them!
In the picture two of the pochettes I'm working on, these are quite simple, made with recycled material and buttons, they are lined in the same material.

I love these two three strands necklaces, I especially love the green and blue one! Both are made with beads my mother sent me for my birthday.

Strawberries and Chocolate

If you find me awake at this time is because I can't sleep, not because I'm an early bird! Inspired by Maryam at the beautiful blog My Marrakesh heres my visual DNA:

And now off to bed!

Jules Tattersall

Here's another gem uncovered at the RDS Craft Fair [No, I haven't finished yet with this series of posts], Jules Tattersall is a woodturner based in North Wales, he crafts gifts from wood and has been doing so for the last 20 years.
He specializes in products made from suistanable wood or reclaimed, such as old fence posts.
I love the texture of his works, the smooth with the rough.

Remix It!!!

After all my posts about jewellery I'm in real need for some fashion, I fell in love with Wardrobe Remix a flickr group started by Tricia Royal of Bits and Bobbins. This group is full of stylish girls and boys, following are just two of my favourites, Persephassa:

And Boboniaa:

So take a trip to see more inspiring and original people , and have fun!!!

You Have Me In Stitches ...

I have to confess, I almost didn't want to add another post after the Uccelli Design one because I like that turquoise necklace so much! But the Sunset is very good isn't it, one mustn't get too precious!
Stitch and Silver was one of my favorites at the RDS Craft Fair, their jewellery is colorful and playful, they are inspired by childhood memorabilia and found objects.
Look how fun and colorful their encased range is!!!
They are made from sterling silver, fabric, beads, buttons, glitter and resin. They are available in a large number of colours combinations and can be specifically designed to match the colour of your outfit if you so wish. Every piece is hand made and no two are alike. They are available on torcs [hard chokers] or on a chain ... I would definitely go for the chain ... I think they are fantastic!

Prices for this range start at £ 54.
I also love their impression range, inspired by Indian designs, the pendants start at £ 22, also available are earrings starting at £ 22, multi link bracelets starting at £ 17 and bangles starting at £ 90.

Dulra Photography

[Dulwich Sunset]

Well, I have been a bad girl, a bad blogging girl ... I think the winter finally got me, as it always does around here ... force gale winds and heavy rains ... but last monday on my way into work I saw a tree with flowers on it, which means that springtime is in the air ... and on my blog! Like the new banner? I love it!
I have more talented people to talk about from the RDS Craft Fair and maybe I should just get on with it ... the fair was more than 2 months ago after all and here's me, the slowest of all snails!
So here is some amazing stuff:

[Leaf Veins]

Daragh Muldowney interest in photography was sparked by a Scuba Diving course he completed in 1992, wanting to capture this experience and the feeling of flying on a new planet he bought a Canon AE-1 program camera, which he still uses today, and began to learn photography. His love for nature was broadened by overseas travels and he began to focus entirely on nature.

Dulra Photography was launched in February 2003, concentrating on the small details he hopes his images will help people connect with Nature and appreciate and respect our beautiful planet.
He likes to exhibit his images on a large scale as this maximises the impact, personally I would love a large format print of this gorgeous picture of water:

[Carrickfinn light]

at Euro 485 its out of my reach at the moment but I think its absolutely gorgeous!
All his pictures are limited editions, printed on photographic paper and hand signed, they are also available in large format; You can see some large format images at the Dundrum Town Centre in Dublin, in London ten pieces can be seen at Underwood Kitchens, Beauchamp Place, Knightsbridge.
