Cleaning Up

I have done a little bit of spring cleaning,
I'm proud of myself for having finally figured out
the technicalities of the code and managed to add a
third column, now you can find all the information
about myself on the left column
and all archives, blo
groll and outside links
on the right.
I think it looks much neater!

Yes, this is unashamedly self congratulatory post, I have been
up all night looking at code so I think
I deserve a little pat on the back!

EDIT
This post is a tad redundant as I constantly tinker
with the blog layout ... so, yes, never mind!

Starlight Spotlight!

I am a day late with this post, sorry! Yesterday I went to Dollymount Beach,
and by the time I got back I was totally knackered , what with all
the running, throwing and fetching (Ruby has some difficulties with the fetching
thing, she runs after the ball and then just ignores it or hogs it, either way it's
double the job for me!).

Here is this week Google Reader Round Up:

Jewellery with a difference from Miette
I saw this on Dear Ada, a fantastic blog
always showcasing innovative, talented artists.

More originality in jewellery design.
How sublime are these quilted bracelets by Julie Floersch.
Thanks to Bits and Bobbins
for posting this on Thursday.

Cute Overload!
Pikaland is another delightful blog, I would truly
recommend a visit. I share Amy's sentiments about
self imposed projects, I'm somewhat of a
failure at them as well, someone who doesn't seem to
have a problem is Kirsten of Tollipop, this lovely little lady is

part of her 100 Dresses Project.

More goodness from Kingdom of Style,
Queen Michelle pointed us in the direction of Illustrator
Cassandra Rhodin

stunning!

Happy Sunday!

All Wrapped Up

I realise that at this time of year many people are thinking about their summer wardrobe, the evenings are getting brighter and it's not as cold or wet and snowy as it was just last week.
This is a fixation of mine, I've been in Ireland for more than 15 year (!) and I still don't have a proper winter wardrobe, every winter I freeze, my shoes are inadequate, my hands turn blue, and I don't even have any excuses, I'm originally from the north of Italy, it gets really freezing there during the winter so I have experienced the cold before ... and you would think that after all these years I would have it sussed ... but no, that's why I'm enviously salivating over these girl's beautiful outfits, they look cosy, warm and super stylish!

How great is this coat?
Very, very great I say!

Yes, More Shoes!

My shoes obsession is no secret to the readers of this
blog, I just can't help myself, when I look at clothes I always think
I could make them myself (I never do, of course, but that's beside the
point), but shoes no, I can't make shoes, so I fall in love and obsess
about them ...
These beautiful shoes from olsen Haus are quite
special, being 100% vegan you can click your
heels with a clean conscience.
Good news for Irish readers, they are available
in Ireland at
Maven

64 Aungier St
Dublin
I'll be sure to take a stroll downtown to have a
look at this beauties

Starlight Spotlight!

Another week-end is here, not that it makes any difference
to me, since I don't have a job to go to everyday is like
Friday (or Sunday, or Monday, or whatever).
I missed this segment last week, that's because it was a messy,
running around, filling forms kind of week [it's very busy
work being unemployed!] and I was glad
to see the back of it!

This Friday Round Up:

Another Shade Of Grey posted about textile
artist Jo Deeley, beautiful stuff!

I'm madly in love with Akira Isogawa
collection: the colours, the shapes ... just perfection!
Brigadeiro posted more pictures on her blog,
run along over there and swoon!

A big big thank you to Anna at Absolutely Beautiful Things
for this link to illustrator's Samantha Hahan
website, right up my street!

Oh, almost forgot! After being scolded by my niece
Barbara, who accused me of being Jurassic, the cheek,
I signed up to Facebook, you can see the link in the
sidebar, come visit, befriend me ... show me you care!

Happy Week-End!

In An Instant

I love this!
Poladroid Image Maker lets you transform your
picture into Polaroids, while no substitute for the real thing
I had great fun with it, of course I had to mess around with
some pictures of my lovely Ruby (are you sick of
her yet?).

Sadly Polaroid will discontinue the manufacturing of cameras
and film
this year, but I was thrilled to discover that
the fantastic team at The Impossible Project have acquired
the old polaroid factory in the Netherlands and plan
to re-start production of film for vintage polaroid
cameras in 2010!
If you are on the lookout for a Polaroid camera
check out Polapremium
there you will be able to find cameras, film and accessories for all
your instant needs!

Daria Jabenko

"Illustration for me is a world of dreams. It is a chance to cause a sensation, to honor imagination and create something that might touch the soul and be remembered in the mind's eye.

Every illustration has a personality. The palette of colors can be sensuous and complex, or sleek, simple and gleaming, but above all, unexpected, potent and creatively ambitious. The invented world should be a place to go to that's familiar, almost nostalgic, yet strange and new."

Plastic Fantastic!

Keeping my resolution not to shop is getting harder, especially since I stumbled on Plasticland, a fantastic website full of great stuff ... I am particularly enamored with their shoes, just look at them, great, aren't they?
These Red Houndstooth Platforms are
currently on sale at only $28.80, they
are also available in black.
These beautiful Maryjanes are only
$ 38.00 ... mmmh, makes me wonder if I can
put off paying my bills and subsist on coffee and fresh air!
