Virtual Dressing
first discovered the site I played around for a little while and then abandoned it, now I'm back in full force. It is fun to play around with a fantasy wardrobe with no regards for budget. I made a few sets that I think could be easily implemented even given my meagre finances. It's given some direction to my second hand and high street shopping as now I have specific items in mind to look out for, as opposed to randomly buying stuff that might fit in my wardrobe or might not, although I doubt that I will be able to let those random items pass me by.
Following are a few daytime outfits I put together:
From this set : grey suede jacket, neutral vests and t-shirts, coloured shirts and beige skirt
(another thing I blame my cousin for is introducing me to the colour beige, a colour I used to avoid at all costs!).
Not a print in sight! That's a new thing for me, while prints won't disappear from my wardrobe any time soon, lately I feel the need to simplify things.
I have put a link to polyvore on the side bar, come on over and play with me!

Prints&Patterns
Yes, it is way past Springtime but I had to
bookmark this Steven Meisel editorial for Vogue Italia.
I love this pattern overdose, very much resembling
the interior of my wardrobe,

I Want, But I Can't Have!
I'm doing you a favour that's what! See the dress?
I love it, but I can't buy it because of my Wardrobe Refashion pledge,
even though it is vintage and technically I could ... O.k., I can't
buy it because I'm totally broke and literally counting the pennies!
This dress needs a good home, please adopt it!
With that ... I shall love you and leave you ...

Peggy Moffitt

Muse and collaborator of american designer Rudi Gernreich, Peggy Moffitt embodies the spirit of the 60's, her style heavily influenced by Japanese Kabuki theatre, the biggest false eyelashes and heavy make up, and of course, her signature haircut by Vidal Sassoon
which she's still sporting today.
These days she still champions the work of Rudi Gernreich,
with exhibitions and a book which came out in 1999,
this led to a collaboration with Comme des Garçons
re-creating a number of key pieces from the designer archives.
Basic Black
I like this woman, I like her a lot, she's just as stylish and original today
as she was in the 60's, living proof that you don't
have to squeeze into a sensible suit when you reach a
"certain age".

English Rose
is far from most people priorities at this moment, it surely is far down my list,
but I can't help loving these beautiful hand crafted shoes by Hetty Rose,
hand made to measure, covered in the most gorgeous vintage kimono
fabrics of your choice.
I bookmarked her link more than two years ago and never blogged
about her unique shoes, revisiting her site tonight I
am still taken by these beauties, so I earmarked them here
for future reference!
Hetty's blog: Shoes With Stories.
These are my personal favourites ... one of these days ...

It's Official!
My eyes are about to fall out! Again I got lost in internet land,
this time I took a trip into the past after clicking on the extensive archives at the
Jalou Gallery website, there you can find past numbers of L'Officiel
De La Mode starting from the 1920's till the present time.
L'Officiel Homme and other magazines,
as well as international editions of L'Officiel De La Mode,
all available free of charge for you to peruse.
in over and over again.
I only wish Vogue would do the same with their
archives, as far as I know only the magazine covers are on line,
I would be more than happy to stand corrected on this one by the way!

All Wrapped Up
This is a fixation of mine, I've been in Ireland for more than 15 year (!) and I still don't have a proper winter wardrobe, every winter I freeze, my shoes are inadequate, my hands turn blue, and I don't even have any excuses, I'm originally from the north of Italy, it gets really freezing there during the winter so I have experienced the cold before ... and you would think that after all these years I would have it sussed ... but no, that's why I'm enviously salivating over these girl's beautiful outfits, they look cosy, warm and super stylish!

Yes, More Shoes!
blog, I just can't help myself, when I look at clothes I always think
I could make them myself (I never do, of course, but that's beside the
point), but shoes no, I can't make shoes, so I fall in love and obsess
about them ...
These beautiful shoes from olsen Haus are quite
special, being 100% vegan you can click your
heels with a clean conscience.
Good news for Irish readers, they are available
in Ireland at
Maven
64 Aungier St
Dublin
I'll be sure to take a stroll downtown to have a
look at this beauties!

to me, since I don't have a job to go to everyday is like
Friday (or Sunday, or Monday, or whatever).
I missed this segment last week, that's because it was a messy,
running around, filling forms kind of week [it's very busy
work being unemployed!] and I was glad
to see the back of it!
This Friday Round Up:

I'm madly in love with Akira Isogawa

Brigadeiro posted more pictures on her blog,
run along over there and swoon!

A big big thank you to Anna at Absolutely Beautiful Thingsfor this link to illustrator's Samantha Hahan

Barbara, who accused me of being Jurassic, the cheek,
I signed up to Facebook, you can see the link in the
