Audrey's Girls

Yume No Alto - Oil On Wood - 2006

Dreamlike, sensual, with an underlying air of eroticism: Audrey Kawasaki's paintings are a real treat for the eyes, she's influenced by Art Nouveau and Japanese Manga, on her site you will find limited edition glicee prints of her work, they get snapped up pretty fast, but you can always sign up to her newsletter to be informed about any new prints available for sale.

Vintage Wonderland

Jeffrey Campbell Round-Toe Pumps $ 129.99 at ModCloth - Green Wood & Plastic Necklace $ 55 at DonnaLand - Black Bangle, Green Polka Dots $ 35 at DonnaLand

While virtual shopping (a new version of window shopping, cause a girl is allowed dreaming!) I stumbled upon these vintage pieces that would look great in my wardrobe: I'm on a green buzz at the moment and love, love, love the fantastic wood circle necklace available at Donnaland, also home of the cute Polka Dots bangle, available in a variety of colours ... but I would definitely snatch up the green one!
Adore the bold mustard colour of the Jeffrey Campbell Pumps, I'm not sure about buying shoes on the Internet as I find sizes differ from manufacturer to manufacturer, I'm sometimes a size 6 and others a size 5, but I can still admire them from afar! We had a fantastic 2 weeks of sunny days in Ireland, makes me want to wear romantic summery dresses, this Tea Time Dress by Soundgirl, available at ModCloth, is perfect! A little bit edgier is this original Biba baby-doll dress, great for an evening out, me thinks! U can find this at VintageModes together with a collection of garments and accessories spanning the last 100 years of Fashion History.

C20: this site is a repository of fabulously romantic Ossie Clark garments, I had a really hard time editing the pictures for this post as every single item is amazing!

These pieces are pricey so a real no no for my empty wallet, but that doesn't stop me from daydreaming that one of these days...

Blog Land ...

People come and people go, sorry to have to say good-bye to E., who has decided to call it a day over at her blog, I'm sad to see her go as hers was one of the blogs I read regularly and always enjoyed, her sense of humour will be sorely missed! Also closing its doors is Little Birds Handmade, another of my favourite blogs, brimming with inspiration and fantastic pictures, happy that Stephanie will continue with 3191 a gorgeous visual blog in collaboration with Mav
Some people are moving and starting new projects:

[Ephemera And Acrylic On Wood.]

Lisa Cogdon is an amazing artist and her blog Bird In The Hand is a source of inspiration, both in her art and in the wonderful objects she collects!

[Sense, Paper and Acrylic]

Fortunately she's only moving her posting to a new location, starting a blog more focussed on her art [which I adore!]; the old blog will remain on line till June this year, I suggest you go have a look before it's gone!

The Black Apple , Emily [proud owner, I'm sure, of the beautiful shoes pictured above], is starting a new blogging adventure, a fashion blog called Some Girls Wander By Mistake, great name don't you think?
I am curious about this as I admire her own personal style which I think is reflected in her fairy tales like artwork.

So Into You!

I discovered Simon Henwood art on the covers of the ever stylish Roisin Murphy Sequins eps and, later on, the cover of her album Ruby Blue [ which is, by the way, still one of my favourites albums after more than two years of playing it constantly, I never tire of it!], I fell in love with his paintings, this guy is super talented! Not only he paints these wonderful large scale portraits but he's also responsible for Roisin videos for the songs " Sow Into You", and " If We'Re In Love" and a lot more besides! I hope that, if you're not familiar with his work, you will take the opportunity to go and check his web-site and you too will fall in love!

On a different note, I think the top Roisin is wearing in this portrait totally rocks!

Rainbow Beads

Oh, how I love these sisters jewellery! Colourful and fun! They don't have a web-site yet, but hopefully soon, I will cyber-stalk them and keep you posted!
Aren't these bracelets just divine?

Hope you will excuse me the crappy quality of the picture ... it's the only one I could find!
All I know about them is that they are sisters, called Elaine and Lyndsey McGonigle, graduates of NCAD [National College Of Art And Design] in Dublin and are based at the Donegal Craft Village, which coincidentally doesn't have a web-site either!
